Effective May 30, 2023, the DOS has proposed to raise the fees to consulates around the world. In most cases, where the fees were $160 USD, the new fees will be $185 USD. There is a rule that the fees are to be revised every two years however this has not been done for several years. This move will allow the consulates to generate sufficient revenue to carry out its functions.
